Primavera Sound Day Three: Neil Young, Sonic Youth…

The ninth edition of the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona closes its doors today with a record of assistance of over 80,000 spectators, and a total of 171 performances. Check out our video coverage of day three.

Although I didn’t get to see everything, great things were said of emerging artists like Ezra Furman & The Harpoons, The Lions Constellation and Rosvita. However, I was able to watch the performances of The Bad Plus, Neil Young, Oneida, Deerhunter, Sonic Youth, Gang Gang Dance, DJ /rupture, Simian Mobile Disco, A-Trak, Zombie Zombie and DJ Mehdi. Neil Young Supports Warner Music Against YouTube

Neil Young has voiced his support for Warner Music Group’s policy of muting and deleting music videos on Youtube, after negotiations between the two media giants failed. We’ve covered Warner’s draconian tactics in the past, and now Neil Young defends that Warner needs to be better compensated by posting the following on his site:

You Tube was in its fledgling stages when Warner made an early deal to work with them. Today, other labels have made more lucrative deals for their artists at You Tube.”
