Awdio.com to Stream Secret Garden Party Music Festival

Awdio.com broadcasts live streaming music, allowing users to listen to Dj sets and concerts from around the world in real time. This year, the Secret Garden Party, which is hosted July 23-26 in the UK, will be live streaming three of their stages on Awdio.com.
The streamed performances will include Jarvis Cocker, Phoenix, The Do, We Have Band, Dan Black, Freeland, DJ Food and Toddla T. Songkick Combines Twitter And Wikipedia For Concert Listings
Music site Songkick is looking to create a one-stop destination for information on live performances. It combines tickets for purchase, provides listings and community discussions. The site now has over one million concert listings, the largest in the world, and allows fans to upload their own content, like Wikipedia.
It’s possible to add photos, videos, set lists, images of ticket stubs, posters, and your own concert reviews for each show listing. You can also follow people, bands, venues or festivals in the same way as you would on Twitter. Continue reading...

After checking out Marnie Stern, Lightning Bolt and Yo La Tengo, I hurried to see Andrew Bird, The Bug, and Jay Reatard. To finish the first day of the festival, two stunning acts from Aphex Twin and Squarepusher, complete with visuals and electronic wizardry, led the entertainment into the wee morning hours. Primavera Sound Festival: Introduction
The Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, Spain is off to a great start, with multiple bands performing simultaneously on six different stages. The turnout exceeds all expectations, and each act has been heavily populated. I imagined that the festival would be spread out, but the stages are very close to each other, and it’s been possible to jump from show to show quickly.
So far, I’ve seen Marnie Stern at the Ray-Ban Vice stage, Lightning Bolt at the ATP arena and Yo La Tengo at the Estrella Damm stage. At the same time, La Bien Querida, Magik Markers, The Vaselines and The Bats have made their appearances on other stages. Swine Flu Cancels Shows in Mexico, Gets Its Own Song
The Swine Flu outbreak has prompted the Mexican government to issued advisories against all public events in Mexico City and other parts of the country. Live music performances are being postponed in response to schools being closed nationwide until May 6. Ticketmaster’s Mexican web site listed concerts of Alejandro Fernandez, Marco Antonio Solís, Los Lobos and Alejandra Guzman as cancelled, and Mexican acts Los Temerarios, K-Paz de la Sierra and Pancho Barraza have been rescheduled to take place in Anaheim, California.
The repercussions are numerous, but for Stephan Zielinski of San Francisco, California, the Swine Flu has inspired a musical composition. He assigned a different instrument to each of the categories of amino acids that constitute the virus’ genome, and created a melody by giving notes to the individual amino acids. Video: The Bad Plus Live On Record Store Day
In celebration of Record Store Day earlier this April, The Bad Plus performed live in their hometown, Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the Electric Fetus. I like how drummer Dave King’s technique cuts the rhythm just enough to make it interesting, and pianist Ethan Iverson gives the band’s jazz fusion his own classical touch.
The store crowded to see the local jazz power-trio perform songs from their new album For All I Care, which they released in February. The album is a collection of covers which added Wendy Lewis’ vocals to their established formation.
