Michael Jackson Video Tribute by PB Wolf

Shortly after Michael Jackson’s death was reported, video jockey Peanut Butter Wolf did a set of video remixes of the pop singer’s most memorable videos live at the Echoplex in Los Angeles.

Wolf spliced the clips together artfully, and shows some of Michael Jackson’s best dance moves over the years. The second and third parts of the tribute have some creative remixes of MJ’s funkier beats, so check out all 30 minutes of PB Wolf’s live VJ set after the jump: Continue reading...

The Pirate Bay Sold For $7.7 Million, Goes Legal

The popular Torrent site The Pirate Bay was sold today to the Swedish software company Global Gaming Factory X (GGF), for the relatively low price of 60 million kronor ($7.7 million). The change in ownership of the file sharing site is set for August 2009. On the Pirate Bay Blog, the owners say that the profits “will go into a foundation that is going to help with projects about freedom of speech, freedom of information and the openness of the nets.”

The new owners seem intent on changing the way the site will function in the future. Hans Pandeya, CEO of GFF, said that they “would like to introduce models which entail that content providers and copyright owners get paid for content that is downloaded via the site.” Read more...

44 Pianos: Experimental Piano Music by Jonathan Crayford

New Zealand musician Jonathan Crayford combined the sounds of 44 pianos to create his most recent project. He explains on his official page:

“44 Pianos was a filmed and recorded performance project that was the product of being in a piano store that contained a very large number of pianos, which later I counted at 44. I was intrigued if they could all be successfully played at the same time by a range of pianists from all walks of the musical spectrum.”
