Awdio.com to Stream Secret Garden Party Music Festival

Awdio.com broadcasts live streaming music, allowing users to listen to Dj sets and concerts from around the world in real time. This year, the Secret Garden Party, which is hosted July 23-26 in the UK, will be live streaming three of their stages on Awdio.com.

The streamed performances will include Jarvis Cocker, Phoenix, The Do, We Have Band, Dan Black, Freeland, DJ Food and Toddla T. Microsoft Launches Streaming Music Service to Compete with Spotify

Microsoft will launch a music streaming service this month, in an attempt to get some of Spotify’s market share. Spotify allows users to stream music for free with intermittant advertising, and the option purchase downloads. Peter Bale, executive producer of MSN, told The Telegraph:

“Music is an important area for Microsoft. We are looking at launching a music streaming service imminently. It will be a similar principle to Spotify but we are still examining how the business model will work.”

EU Partners with MTV, Moby to Raise Climate Change Awareness

The European Commission is launching a campaign with MTV called “Play to Stop”, which aims to promote environmental consciousness on MTV in eleven EU countries. There will be concerts, television programming and online content aimed at educating European youth about climate change.

The initiative is part of the energy and climate change policy adopted by the EU in December 2008, and may be related to a recently released Europe-wide survey which shows that only half of people aged between 15 and 24 have ever taken action against climate change. Continue reading...
