‘Internet Blackout’ Protest Against Law in New Zealand

The New Zealand law that will allow authorities to summarily cut Internet connections is being contested widely on Facebook, Myspace and Twitter, an initiative from The Creative Freedom Foundation. Please note - the Internet Blackout Protest is not about file-sharing. It is about the law that assumes Internet users are guilty if anyone makes an accusation that they have engaged in any activity that infringes copyright. The penalty is that websites can be taken down and Internet access is removed.

Copyrights must be protected but removing users rights is not the way to do this.
