U.S. indie band MGMT has threatened to sue French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s party for using their song Kids without permission. It’s one of those ironic, rare moments when a politician’s plan backfires, because Sarkozy is one of the leaders of the “fight against piracy”, having implemented, in France, the first “three strikes” law that gets a user disconnected based on three formal copyright complaints.
